Daily, the Lake County Department of Utilities, Solid Waste Division (LCSWD) works to prevent odors from leaving its landfill. These efforts have directed us to upgrade our odor detection capabilities by installing onsite electronic odor detection monitors, utilizing odor tracking software, and asking the community for detailed feedback on odors observed in the vicinity of the landfill. Utilizing this information, Operations staff will run a trajectory (path) report that utilizes the important feedback you provided (date, time, location, type of odor) along with our odor investigations, data from odor detection monitors, local weather, and other environmental factors to determine the potential odor source.
This better understanding of odors will help in the continual improvements being made to minimize odors stemming from landfill operations. If you would like a copy of the trajectory report, please indicate that on the form. We will send that report to you in the following days.
Please complete all fields so that we can accurately register your report. The information you provide to the LCSWD will be shared with representatives of the: Ohio EPA, Lake County Department of Utilities, Lake County General Health District, and Painesville Township Trustees.
You will receive a confirmation email immediately following the report submission. Thank you!
